Gathers and analyzes requirements; manages Project and ensure successful integration and implementation of new capabilities. Ensures Projects are accomplished with agility and quality. Efficiently utilize work center resources across the program. Manages and optimizes for flow between work centers.  Review service performance reports identifying any significant issues and variances, initiating, where necessary, corrective actions and ensuring that all outstanding issues are followed up. Develops new and innovative knowledge management, leadership and coordination strategies to address significant issues by working with administrators, and other key officials through sharing operational business processes. Ensure that all acquisitions, procurements, and outsourcing efforts address information security requirements consistent with organization goals. Act as a primary stakeholder in the underlying information technology (IT) operational processes and functions that support the service, provide direction and monitor all significant activities so the service is delivered successfully. Knowledge of Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) activities for the command, which includes creation of new efforts, complete and accurate documentation, and approval. This position performs systems analysis, interfacing with users to support functional requirements development, analysis of tools and techniques to support the development of systems, troubleshooting, analysis, performance monitoring and improvement of systems used by the operations functions.   The TTSD organization develops and implements customized technology solutions to support Bonneville Power Administration’s (BPA’s) Control Centers. TTSD is unique in that we are the only group at BPA that does custom design, development, and maintenance of grid operations software solutions.  Our group consists of six sub-teams, of .Net and Java expertise across multiple systems.  Candidates must have strong technical and team skills to be able to do the job.  Utility experience is ideal.  Our team members must be able to learn and understand the complex interactions between multiple interconnected systems in order to build creative solutions and find and fix unique problems.  We look for people who possess intuition and sleuthing skills beyond the basic diagnostic skills.  Candidates also need the ability to understand and fulfill the various compliance requirements that regulate our business, supporting the safety and security of our systems.

Are you ready to make a difference?   The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the Transmission Transport Engineering (TELF) organization at Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).  This position will provide technical support to engineers, project managers and other technicians in the design of assigned civil engineering projects (outside the fence) and verify conformance to all institutional, city, state and local regulations and BPA standards.  This support includes preparing or revising engineering drawings and designs for transmission line access roads and preparing design specifications for the construction or reconstruction of access roads, bridges and culverts, and evaluating transmission line impairments and developing drawings and specifications for correction. This position will also assist other engineers in field investigations, special studies, estimating projects, construction inspection, and specification development as requested.    Transmission Transportation Engineering provides a variety of services for the development of new facilities, and the asset management and maintenance of existing facilities. These services include the reconnaissance, engineering, design, and construction administration of transmission line and fiber optic line access roads, and substation and radio site entrance roads. In addition, provide geotechnical services, including landslide stabilization, foundation investigations, and soils analyses; engineering, design, and maintenance of bridges, culverts, etc. Provide engineering and design assistance to land owners effecting BPA’s transportation systems. (Example: Forest Service, Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR), private owners, etc.) Additional services include emergency response to transmission line or fiber optic line failures and the expertise to assist maintenance to get the transmission line or fiber optic line back in operation.

This position will also assist the Application Services Manager and Supervisors in overall Transmission Technology organizational analysis, strategy, and development.   Real Time Control Systems is responsible for the planning, procurement, engineering and development, integration, modification, or operation and maintenance of systems used to provide safe and reliable real-time control, dispatch, analysis, management, and protection of the transmission system. These systems, typically located within the system operations control centers, are used for 24 x 7 support of the power system. To ensure continued reliability, the Real Time Control Systems organization also provides planning and management of control center projects and the support services required to ensure consistent and compliant deliverables. Additional responsibilities include ensuring that these critical systems conform to appropriate industry and regulatory requirements and participating in and supporting the development of applicable standards at the regional and national level.

The position formulates and applies various modeling techniques and other optimizing methods to develop and validate information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, process development or other managerial functions.  In addition, this position concentrates on collecting and analyzing data, analyzing workflow, and developing process analysis and decision support information and documents.   This position in Operational Monitoring, Analysis, and Process provides operational support to the groups supporting 24/7 grid operations.  The position is part of a team that works collaboratively to provide these services, the team environment is especially important to us.  This position requires someone with good attention to detail and with the ability to prioritize their day to day activities in conjunction with the rest of the team to meet timelines.   The position is primarily sedentary with limited activity throughout the year.

Perform technical testing and validation of applications, systems, and networks to evaluate levels of compliance with DoD Security technical implementation guides (STIG) and SRGs Proficient in incident reporting and response policy and procedures for IC and DoD & Air Force. The Senior Field Engineer candidate will provide USCIS user support at remote locations on assigned open tickets and work in collaboration with the Service Desk. The Senior Field Engineer is responsible for resolving customer affecting technical issues in a timely fashion in order to maintain customer satisfaction. The Senior Field Engineer installs, troubleshoots and maintains an extensive variety of products and equipment. The Senior Field Engineer will have the ability to make replacement cables from raw cable and RJ-45 connectors. Trains employees, identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed. Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers’ needs. This position will support one or more teams as a software programmer.   TTSD is unique in that we are the only group at BPA that does custom design, development, and maintenance of grid operations software solutions.  Our group consists of six sub-teams, of .Net and Java expertise across multiple systems.  Candidates must have strong technical and team skills to be able to do the job.  Utility experience is ideal.  Our team members must be able to learn and understand the complex interactions between multiple interconnected systems in order to build creative solutions and find and fix unique problems.  We look for people who possess intuition and sleuthing skills beyond the basic diagnostic skills.  Candidates also need the ability to understand and fulfill the various compliance requirements that regulate our business, supporting the safety and security of our systems.
